Anesthesia is necessary to allow us to properly diagnose and treat or prevent oral pain in your pet.  The veterinary dentist considers the pre-operative examination findings, blood work, concurrent illnesses and medications as well as any other diagnostic findings to create your pet’s specific anesthesia protocol.
During anesthesia your pet will be monitored by a licensed veterinary technician or a veterinary assistant.

Your pet’s heart rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, temperature, and end tidal CO2 will be monitored.  If any abnormalities should arise during your pet’s anesthetic procedure, we are well equipped to treat them and provide safe anesthesia.  We provide pain infusions and/or pain injections during your pet’s procedure to keep them comfortable as well as local nerve blocks.

If your pet’s anesthetic risk is deemed too high for our team and needs the expertise of a board certified specialist in anesthesia and analgesia, we are able to provide that service for you and your pet in our Longview, WA location.
